Flower Sticks and Twist Ties

So, this am, paul was driving away from the house and he called back to tell me that one of my gladiola blooms had fallen over in the grass…so I went out and got one of my plant sticks (I know there is an official name, but I can’t think of it right now lol) and a twist tie ….a few years ago, I had a gazillion gladiolas and discovered that as they blossomed, they became heavy and would bend over…so I went to Lowe’s and got these sticks and twist ties, so that I could tie the flowers to the sticks and the blooms could last longer and look prettier; I held the stick in the middle of the glads held them against the stick, tied them to the stick…and as I did that, I had these thoughts…..1) Sometimes, we become so burdened down with life, that we feel just like that gladiola, bent over, our blooms of happiness threatening to be overtaken by the wetness of sadness and disappointment……2) But God is that flower stick (lol) that I put in the middle of the glads…..we are tied to Him through the blood He shed for us, through his unconditional love for us, through his grace and mercy He gives us every day……3) But the stick can only work if it is first put there……4) Bad things are happening to a lot of people, everyday….and where is our comfort? Our comfort is in knowing that if God is for us, who can be against us?…….5) And if you are like me, you may need to tie yourself back to God, through whatever way you cleve to Him, so that you can truly know what it feels like to be anchored..
